India came to us as a scared and completely unhandled yearling filly who we saved from slaughter in February 2017. She had come into a kill pen with a group of 8 young horses. We only had room and funds to pull one, and another rescue pulled another. The rest of them shipped to slaughter a couple of days later. India came to us unhandled and extremely scared. She would strike out at anyone who approached her with both front feet because she was terrified. With a lot of patience, trust building and daily handling, India eventually trusted people and turned into an extremely friendly horse. She is a very smart horse and loves checking out new things and playing in water. India is one lucky girl and deserves the wonderful new home that she has been blessed with.
