Circle of Hope - Sponsor a Horse

The Circle of Hope is a unique opportunity for a horse lover who doesn’t have the ability to care for a horse of their very own, but would still like to make a difference in a horse’s life. By making a recurring monthly gift towards the care of a specific horse at The Dorset Equine Rescue, you are helping to cover important monthly expenses associated with caring for a rescue horse including veterinary care, farrier care, grain, medications, hay and training. The Circle of Hope also makes a thoughtful gift to honor a friend or family member who loves horses. Please let us know if your sponsorship is a gift and if you would like a photo and story of the horse you are sponsoring sent to the recipient. Please let us know if you would like to sponsor a specific horse, or if you would like us to choose one for you.

*Please note: If the horse you are sponsoring gets adopted, your sponsorship will automatically transfer to another horse for the remainder of your monthly commitment. While many of our horses are available for adoption, some are unadoptable due to medical issues and will stay with us in sanctuary for life.

There are three levels to consider when joining our Circle of Hope:

Silver Level: $45/per month

Covers the grain for one month for one horse, or covers the cost of hay to feed one horse for approximately one week, or covers one farrier visit for one horse.

Gold Level: $100/per month

Covers hay to feed one horse for approximately two weeks, or covers the cost of approximately four hours of training, or covers the cost of approximately 12 bags of bedding.

Platinum Level: $250/per month

Covers the hay to feed one horse for approximately five weeks, or covers the cost of a veterinarian exam/spring vaccines for one horse, or covers the cost of approximately 35 bags of bedding.

Your sponsorship will help give a second chance at a better life to a rescue horse at The Dorset Equine Rescue and help to provide sustainability to our organization so we can to continue our mission into the future.

Please click on the link below to join our Circle of Hope!

Thank you for your support!

Hope's Story

Hope came to The Dorset Equine Rescue as a 4 month old with her mom June several years ago. Due to severe neglect and lack of medical care, Hope arrived very ill. She had rhodococcus, pneumonia and a severe hernia which needed surgery, however she was not well enough to have the surgery. Sadly she encountered multiple severe complications due to the rhodococcus and pneumonia and her body could not recover. Rather than allowing her to suffer, she was humanly euthanized. We were so heartbroken and decided to name our Circle of Hope in her memory to help other horses like her have hope for a new life.
